What is a Personal Branding Session and Why do you need it?

As a business owner or entrepreneur, you may have heard this buzz phrase called “personal branding” flying around the inter webs from people, or other businesses. I know I see it a lot and sometimes it can be super confusing on what it is, why you may need it and how is it going to help you. I’m here to give you a small insight into what my personal branding sessions are and how they will help you step up your game in your business.

Essentially, when you are in business and you are selling a product or a service to a client, you are in fact, also selling YOU. The clients or customers you are trying to reach, are people who want to connect with the face behind the business. And guess what baby…that’s YOU (whether you like it or not).

As scary as that sounds, I want to break down what it means for your business, and why a personal branding session can help make your life easier, attract your best clients, and give you more confidence in what you are doing in this world.

Step 1.) Diving Deep into your your “WHY” and getting CLEAR on that message.
-The one thing I start all of my personal branding sessions with any business or entrepreneur is diving DEEP into your WHY.
-Why are you doing this?
-Why does this fuel your life
-Why do you want to help your perfect client with your service or offering.

It is hard to get on a clear path to building your best life, if you do not understand or fully know WHY you are doing this in the first place.

There is no real wrong answer here, but there is a wrong process if you are not getting down into the nitty gritty of WHY you are doing what you do.

The first part of our personal branding sessions gives you a whole questionnaire to start the process of how you find your why, what makes you excited to do this work, and what are you doing to help your clients with this. I believe this is an ESSENTIAL step to making sure you are pursuing your dream job and life.

Step 2.) Planning your images and where you are planning on using them.
-This step is a big one and often gets over looked. There are so many places that you can insert an image about your business or your services that are not the most common.

Did you know that changing your facebook profile photo or cover photo on your business page will get your followers to notice that you are doing something active on your page. When was the last time you changed yours? I know I am at fault for this, but have you had the same header image on your page for the last month? The last year? Or since you started your page?

When we sit down and talk about your session at your free design consultation, we will discuss all the possible places that you can use these images. And trust me, there are LOTS.

Step 3.) Prepping for your session.
-This is the fun part for me. This is where we take your why, and your plan on where you will use your images, and start to craft images that will stand out and be unique to you and your business. As much as stock images come in handy, they are not personal and they don’t always connect with you and your business. This is why doing a personal branding session is so important because it will let your clients and potential clients see YOU and YOUR BIZ and not some random stock image taken off a site that possibly your competitors will be using too! Being unique, different and authentic gives you a leg up on building a better know, like and trust factor with your ideal client.

I know this seems like a lot, but when I am doing personal branding sessions with my clients my goal is to always break this down into bite size pieces so that you can enjoy this process and really learn how to make it work for you!
