Senior Spotlight-Sophia Beebe

Sophia's Session last summer was my Ultimate Session and she chose for her destination to be in the Detroit area.  She loves graffiti and all that goes along with it, so why not travel over to the Detroit area where there are plenty of unique options to choose from.  

To start off the session, we traveled up to Cranbrook and took photos on the property of the school and surrounding area.  This is the 3rd or 4th time I have photographed out there so I knew we would find some unique and beautiful places.  After exploring around Cranbrook we grabbed lunch quick and then head downtown for our graffiti look.

Some of the amazing things the city of Detroit has done is turned some of the areas into works of art.  A huge bike trail now exists called the Dequindre cut and has so many different areas of graffiti art and in the summer there is good, live music and places to hang out.  

To get to all the places, we had to rent a few bikes and my assistant Gabby and I traveled down the path carrying my camera bag, external light and soft box and light stand!  It was a funny site, but we did it and got some amazing photos.

Then we ended up downtown Detroit around the RenCen. We ate dinner and ended up with some great sunset photos.

What I love about the Ultimate session is we get to hang out and laugh, and do so many different things.  It really takes senior portraits to a whole new level and makes it not just about taking photos but spending a day together!
